Team TrickyScribe: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday visited Narayanpur village in Garkha block of Saran district to pay tribute to BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz, who was martyred in the line of duty. The CM offered floral tributes at the martyr’s portrait and interacted with his grieving family, offering words of consolation.
During the visit, the Chief Minister handed over a cheque of ₹50 lakh as an ex-gratia amount to the martyr’s family. He also announced that one of Imtiaz’s sons would be provided a government job based on his qualifications.
In honour of the fallen soldier, the state government will name a two-kilometre rural road—from Chintamangunj Bridge to Rahampur Bazaar—after Mohammad Imtiaz. Additionally, a “Shaheed Dwar” (Martyr’s Gate) will be built at the entrance of the village in Jalal-Basant Panchayat. A new health sub-centre will be constructed in Narayanpur, and a memorial dedicated to Mohammad Imtiaz will also be established.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Minority Welfare Minister Jama Khan, Science and Technology Minister Sumit Kumar Singh, and other senior officials including Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, DGP Vinay Kumar, and Saran District Magistrate Aman Sameer were present at the ceremony.
The martyr’s brothers Mohammad Mustafa and Mohammad Aslam, along with his sons Imran Raza and Imdad Raza, and villagers gathered in large numbers to witness the solemn tribute and state honour.
This heartfelt gesture by the state leadership underscores Bihar’s commitment to honouring its brave sons who lay down their lives in the service of the nation.
