NDA Infighting Exposed: Kushwaha Warns of Electoral Risks!

Team TrickyScribe: Two-day political brainstorming session of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) concluded at the Valmiki Auditorium, where party president and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha addressed a press conference, launching scathing attacks on both the opposition and certain leaders within the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Kushwaha made bold statements about Bihar’s future, Nitish Kumar’s leadership, and several other key issues, sparking widespread attention.

Nitish Kumar: The Undisputed NDA Face for CM

Kushwaha firmly declared that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA in the upcoming assembly elections, dismissing any speculation about alternative candidates. Praising Kumar’s leadership, he said, “Nitish Kumar is the most suitable leader for the chief minister’s post, and under his leadership, the NDA is poised for victory.”

He contrasted this with the opposition, particularly targeting Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, whom he described as having limited support confined to a single community. “Tejashwi lacks the broad leadership capacity required to become chief minister,” Kushwaha asserted, adding that the opposition is not united behind Yadav.

Injustice Against Bihar Since 1976

Highlighting what he called a “conspiracy” against Bihar, Kushwaha pointed to the 1976 Delimitation Act amendment as a major betrayal of the state’s interests. He accused successive governments of perpetuating injustice against Bihar and other backward states since then. Announcing a significant move, Kushwaha revealed plans for a statewide public movement in 2026, termed the “Constitutional Rights Delimitation Reform Movement,” to demand fair delimitation and address this historical wrong.

Internal NDA Tensions

Kushwaha did not shy away from exposing cracks within the NDA. He accused certain leaders of disregarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directives and flouting instructions from BJP national president JP Nadda. This internal discord, he warned, has given the opposition ammunition to attack the alliance. “If this leadership continues, questions will arise about our electoral future,” Kushwaha remarked, urging the NDA to resolve its differences to avoid adverse consequences in upcoming elections.

He attributed past NDA weaknesses in regions like Shahabad and Magadh to internal rifts rather than opposition strength, warning that any recurrence of such issues could jeopardize election results.

Emphasis on Caste Census

Underlining the importance of a caste-based census, Kushwaha called it essential for Bihar’s future and the protection of every community’s rights. “A caste census is not just about numbers; it’s a pathway to ensuring justice for all sections of society,” he said. He expressed satisfaction that all political parties in Bihar have united on this issue, signaling a rare moment of consensus.

Bodh Gaya Temple Controversy

Kushwaha stirred controversy by advocating that the management of the Bodh Gaya Temple should be exclusively in the hands of Buddhists. Calling for a review of the Bodh Gaya Temple Act of 1953, he supported growing demands from within India and abroad for reforms in the temple’s administration.

“The management of the Bodh Gaya Temple should be handled by followers of Buddhism,” he reiterated, appealing to Hindu communities to support this stance.

Response to Pahalgam Attack

Commenting on the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kushwaha backed the government’s response and emphasized the need to avoid divisive politics based on religion. “The government is working for people of all faiths, and we must steer clear of religious politicking,” he said, endorsing the government’s security measures.

On Pawan Singh’s Wife

Addressing speculation about Jyoti Singh, wife of Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh, contesting elections, Kushwaha revealed, “She personally approached me for a ticket, but now she is going around to various parties.” He clarified that her decision to contest is her own, distancing himself from the matter.

Tejashwi Yadav’s Weak Leadership

Taking a swipe at Tejashwi Yadav, Kushwaha claimed that Bihar’s electorate is firmly behind the NDA, leaving no room for the opposition regardless of their choice of chief ministerial candidate. He criticized Yadav’s leadership as lacking the broad appeal necessary to lead the state, predicting a tough road ahead for the RJD.

Call for Unity in NDA

Expressing concern over internal fissures within the NDA, Kushwaha warned that any further discord could have severe consequences. He urged the alliance to address its internal issues promptly to maintain its electoral strength and avoid repeating past mistakes.

Kushwaha’s statements have set the stage for a heated political battle in Bihar, with his unwavering support for Nitish Kumar, sharp criticism of the opposition, and calls for systemic reforms likely to dominate discussions in the lead-up to the assembly elections.
