Priya Kumari Mishra | Team TrickyScribe: In a tribute to the legendary freedom fighter Babu Kunwar Singh on his birth anniversary, the skies over Patna witnessed a spectacular and simultaneously thrilling aerial display.
Celebrated as Shaurya Diwas, this year’s observance will be marked by a grand two-day air show by the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran and Akash Ganga teams on April 22 and 23 along the picturesque JP Ganga Path, near Sabhyata Dwar.
Bihar government went all out to ensure the success and safety of the event, showcasing a blend of valour, patriotism, and top-tier coordination.
Heavy Bandobust
Elaborate security arrangement were put in place, with over 140 senior officials and more than 400 constables and home guard personnel deployed on site. A hi-tech control room, alongside emergency fire services and ambulance facilities, was set up to ensure round-the-clock safety and rapid response.
A large German hangar was erected opposite Sabhyata Dwar to accommodate thousands of attendees, ensuring they get a safe and comfortable view of the aerial stunts and skydiving formations.
A Sky Full of Tribute
Stunning parajumping stunts by the Akash Ganga team were a highlight of the celebrations. The parajumpers descended carrying the Tricolour and a portrait of Babu Kunwar Singh, symbolising a rare blend of aerial skill and patriotic homage. The act aims to instil pride among the viewers and inspire a deep connection to the heroic legacy of Bihar’s brave son.
Honouring Bihar’s Warrior Legacy
Babu Kunwar Singh, one of the tallest figures of India’s First War of Independence of 1857, holds a special place in Bihar’s cultural and historical fabric.
In recent years, Bihar government honoured his legacy by establishing a university, an agriculture university, and even initiating the construction of a bridge on the Ganga river bearing his name.
Ensuing efforts are part of a larger state-driven initiative to instil pride in Bihar’s heroic past and promote a deeper understanding of its historical icons.
This year’s Shaurya Diwas is more than just a celebration—it’s a statement of identity, pride, and unity. Through the magnificent air show and coordinated tributes, Bihar is gearing up to give its hero the sky-high salute he truly deserves!
