This incident is not isolated! Just days prior, reports emerged of police assaulting a truck driver, fracturing his skull—a case that remains unresolved. Hathsarganj OP’s recurring pattern of alleged brutality and lack of accountability has fueled public distrust.

Talking to Team TrickyScribe DSP (HQ) AZ Imam confirmed the incident and said that an enquiry has been constituted. DSP Imam wanted of dire consequences in case the charges find merit. DSP, Vaishali Sadar, Om Prakash told Team TrickyScribe that Town Thana SHO has been designated to prepare a detailed report based on which action will be taken.

Distributing Job Letters at Gandhi Maidan Was My Idea, Claims Tejashwi

Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has claimed that the idea of distributing job appointment letters at Gandhi Maidan was originally his, which the NDA government has now copied. However, he alleged that 16% of the reservation quota meant for backward classes, Dalits, and tribals has been snatched away, depriving 8,222 candidates of their rightful jobs.

Tejashwi accused the BJP-JD(U) government of betraying social justice, asserting that his government had conducted a caste-based survey to ensure equitable reservation, increasing it to 65%. He reiterated that the RJD would continue its fight to secure 65% reservation under the 9th Schedule of the Constitution, following the Tamil Nadu model, and would not let the deprived communities suffer.

Tejashwi also criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for ignoring the grievances of BPSC aspirants, despite RJD sending multiple letters demanding justice. He claimed that the current appointment drive was merely the implementation of pending recruitment from his tenure, where his government had planned 3.5 lakh job appointments.

Accusing the BJP of being anti-reservation and anti-democratic, he said the ruling alliance is deliberately avoiding real issues like poverty, migration, and inflation, instead oppressing marginalized communities, minorities, and women. Vowing to fight for the rights of the deprived, Tejashwi assured that RJD would continue its struggle both on the streets and in the legislature to protect reservation and ensure justice.

Additionally, the Akshar Aanchal Yojana, aimed at promoting literacy among Dalit, Mahadalit, minority, and extremely backward-class women, saw 4.85 lakh women participate in literacy exams during the same period.

नीतीश के दो उत्तराधिकारी! दोनों बढ़ाएंगे टेंशन

टीम ट्रिकिस्क्राइब: बिहार में विधानसभा चुनाव को लेकर राजनीतिक पार्टियों ने अपनी कमर कसनी शुरू कर दी है। इस बार विधानसभा चुनाव के दौरान बड़े पैमाने पर चुनावी जोड़-तोड़ और दांव पेच देखने को मिलने वाले हैं। यह तस्वीर तो साफ हो चुकी है कि इस बार का चुनाव बिहार के लिए तो बेहद अहम होगा ही, मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार और अन्य कई कई पार्टियों के लिए भी बेहद खास होने वाला है। ये चुनाव कुछ चेहरों की किस्मत तय करेगा। तो वहीं, कुछ की किस्मत बदलने वाला भी साबित होने वाला है। वजह साफ है। इस बार के विधानसभा चुनाव में कई नई पार्टियां और कई नए चेहरे नजर आने वाले हैं। जो सीधे तौर पर मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार को ही चुनौती देंगे।

इस बार के चुनावी अखाड़े में प्रशांत किशोर और RCP सिंह दो नए खिलाड़ी नजर आने वाले हैं। ये दोनों ही चेहरे सीधी तौर पर नीतीश कुमार को ही चुनौती देते नजर आएंगे। यह दोनों राजनीतिक चेहरे कभी नीतीश कुमार के बेहद करीब के थे। और इन चेहरों पर नीतीश कुमार का बेहद भरोसा था। भरोसा इतना था कि दोनों चेहरों को नीतीश कुमार का उत्तराधिकारी माना जा रहा था। लेकिन अब यह दोनों ही राजनीतिक चेहरे नीतीश कुमार की पार्टी से अलग हो चुके हैं। ये कभी जनता दल यूनाइटेड की दिशा और दशा तय करते थे। अब वही नीतीश कुमार के विरोध में है और चुनौती बनने वाले हैं। 

याद दिलाते चलें कि किशोर अपनी पार्टी जन सुराज लॉन्च कर चुके हैं। उन्होंने आधिकारिक रूप से इस बात का ऐलान भी कर दिया है कि वह आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ेंगे। इतना ही नहीं उन्होंने सीधे तौर पर मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार के तमाम नीतियों को चुनौती भी है। उन्होंने नीतीश कुमार की शराब बंदी का खुलकर विरोध किया। और इस कानून को सरकार बनने पर पहले घंटे ही खत्म करने का ऐलान किया है। 

इधर, दूसरी तरफ कभी जनता दल यूनाइटेड के मैन फ्राइडे कहे जाने वाले आरसीपी सिंह हैं। उन्होंने भी अपनी पार्टी लॉन्च करने का ऐलान कर दिया है। पार्टी का नाम तय कर दिया है। और वो अब पूरी तरीके से नीतीश कुमार के विरोध में ही खड़े हैं। अगर वोट बैंक की बात की जाए तो आरसीपी सिंह सीधे तौर पर मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार के वोटरों पर डेंट करने वाले हैं। आरसीपी सिंह की निगाह कुर्मी और कोइरी वोट बैंकों पर है। जो नीतीश कुमार की पार्टी का कोर वोटर माना जाता है। अब देखने वाली बात होगी कि RCP सिंह और प्रशांत किशोर का काट नीतीश कुमार क्या निकालते हैं। मगर राजनैतिक गुणा गणित तो यही बताते हैं कि ये दोनों नेता नीतीश कुमार के लिए सर दर्द जरूर बनने वाले है।

Revaluate the utility of Farakka barrage, says Nitish

The TrickyScribe: Raising questions over the feasibility of Farakka barrage that has often been criticized for repetitive floods in Bihar due to excessive siltation in river Ganga exacting a huge toll on Bihari life and property, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Thursday said the utility of the barrage must be revaluated.

Criticism of Farakka barrage for causing excessive siltation in the Ganga stays accurate. The dam was considered a doomed project even before its execution was started. The only difference remains that in the 1960s, the media vilified the-then West Bengal chief engineer Kapil Bhattacharya, for saying exactly what CM Nitish would echo five decades later.

Course of time

Arthur Cotton, a British irrigation engineer, suggested in 1853 that building a barrage across the Ganges at Farakka would flush river Hooghly free of silt and keep the Kolkata port free. Soon after Independence, West Bengal government began exploring the idea and the Center took over its planning in 1949.

Expectations from Farakka Barrage

The barrage as proposed by Cotton was expected to divert water away from Padma – as river Ganga is known in Bangladesh – and into river Hooghly, thereby flushing it free of silt.

Reality that followed

Bhattacharya, however, stood strongly against the proposal. He believed that the reason behind the siltation of Hooghly was not sedimentation carried over hundreds of kilometers from the Himalayas by the Ganga. Two dams on the Damodar and Rupnarayan rivers, western tributaries of the Hooghly, were held responsible for the same by Bhattacharya.

In his report titled ‘Silting of Calcutta Port’, Bhattacharya wrote in 1961, the two dams were built without “taking into consideration flood-tides and tide-borne silts” and had hence got choked. Bhattacharya had also indicated that the dam was designed to discharge too little water at times of floods, which would then lead to devastating floods upstream in Malda and Murshidabad in West Bengal and in several districts of Bihar through which the Ganga flows. All the predictions made by Bhattacharya have come true since!
