JAMIPOL Continues Relief Effort for Bihar Flood Victims

by Editor's Desk

Team TrickyScribe: Responding to the recent severe floods in Himalayan rivers adversely impacting multiple districts in Bihar’s river basins, JAMIPOL Limited—a Tata Group company—has joined forces with AMURT Global and Lakshya to initiate a major relief effort targeting flood victims in Saharsa district. The coordinated operation aims to deliver essential relief supplies to 2,000 affected families, providing critical support during this challenging time.

The relief packages include food staples such as pulses, rice, mustard oil, poha, and jaggery, along with essential hygiene items like sanitary pads, mosquito repellents, soaps, and masks. This initiative reinforces JAMIPOL’s commitment to disaster relief, particularly in regions frequently impacted by floods.

AMURT Global, with a long-standing presence in Bihar, has leveraged its extensive local network and expertise in disaster management to identify the most vulnerable communities affected by the recent floods. By working closely with AMURT’s Saharsa team, the collaborative effort ensures aid reaches genuine beneficiaries. AMURT Global has been a trusted presence in Bihar for decades, carrying out sustainable development projects and emergency relief operations.

Arunabh Kumar, Local Coordinator for the initiative, highlighted the meticulous planning that went into the relief effort. “The procurement and distribution process was strategically planned to ensure maximum impact. By collaborating closely with AMURT’s ground team, we were able to pinpoint the most affected areas, guaranteeing that support reached those in urgent need.”

“This collaborative effort demonstrates our commitment to supporting communities in crisis,” said Shri Chandan Singh of JAMIPOL’s CSR & Volunteering committee. “By partnering with experienced organizations like AMURT Global and Medanta Labs, we’re ensuring efficient and effective distribution of aid to the families who need it the most.”

The relief operation is being coordinated by Lakshya, a registered NGO with 18 years of experience in disaster relief operations. Lakshya’s extensive track record includes providing aid to over 50,000 people during various natural disasters, including the 2023 Yamuna floods in Delhi and the 2020 Guwahati floods.

This joint relief initiative underscores the power of collaboration and shared commitment to providing timely assistance and resources to flood-affected communities in Bihar.
